Can I opt out of Making Tax Digital for VAT?

Unless you are exempt, you can not opt out of MTD for VAT if you are a VAT-registered business.

The government's VAT Notice 700/22 contains a list of the different exemptions from MTD for VAT, such as if you or your business are subject to an insolvency procedure.

Speak to your accountant or bookkeeper if you are unsure of whether you qualify for an exemption or not.
